Twelve years ago, the Clever Girl Organizing Challenge started with just some posts on my blog. I couldn’t have imagined that all this time later, it’s still my favorite part of running my business! I love the feedback I get from first time participants, the “I can’t wait for January!!” message from Returning Challengers, the sense of community we build in the Facebook Group as we all (including me!) work on those spaces and categories in our home we know need some real attention.
Admittedly, some years, I’ve had to give it thought, come autumn, as to whether or not I wanted to do it again that next year. By the time November rolls around, I’m hearing from lots of previous-year Challengers that they can’t WAIT for January to get started again, and that really reminds me that what I’m doing brings value to so many homes and lives.
This year, however, I never hesitated. Let’s face it; 2024 has been a bit of an insane year, for lots of reasons. I’ve never craved the structure and inspiration of the Clever Girl Organizing Challenge more! Just like me, they want to come home and feel great about BEING home.
And yes, I have the time, the energy, and the EXCITEMENT to do it all over again!
So, 2025 will be the 12th year of this Clever Girl Organizing Challenge, and if you haven’t joined in the past, maybe this is YOUR year?
The other tradition? I launch registration on Black Friday. That’s right – while many people are turning towards shopping, deals, and acquisition, I also want to put it out there that with The Clever Girl Organizing Challenge, I strive to help people understand what they own, why the own it, and where they keep it. It’s okay to think about shopping AND decluttering all on the same day!
I’m putting the finishing touches on it, but registration is now open! We get started on Monday, January 6th, so you have some time to decide.

If you haven’t been a member of the CGO Challenge before, let me tell you a little about it:

We start January 6th and run for 11 weeks, through the first week of spring.

Participation includes receiving a weekly email assignment – some space or category in your home – plus joining and engaging in a private Facebook Group (required). Each week I’ll bring live videos to the Facebook group, as well, to talk about the concepts that hold us back when we’re trying to declutter and organize, and explore strategies to move past them.

We work on different spaces and categories throughout the house – kitchen, bathroom, linen closet, medicine chest, clothes/wardrobe, kids stuff, memorabilia, etc.. I provide suggestions on how to focus your time that week, but there is *always* room for you to prioritize how you spend your time, including dialing back your efforts if it is just a busy week.

Did I mention that *I* do the Challenge assignments, too?? My life, and my home, is not perfect, nor do I strive for it to be. Believe me, I get into the benefits of this Challenge just as much as the rest of the members do!
